Line Me Up

Category: Design

wood you believe it?

I can’t get enough of the stripes, graphic lines, and gradients these two artists have created.

First is Jason Middebrook. He somehow manages to paint crisp, thick and thin colorful lines – but doesn’t totally cover the beautiful grain of the wood. What a combination of aesthetics!

The next artist, Anne Lindberg, uses colored thread that she pins into a space. The detail and effort to produce such works, let alone the beauty of these amazing pieces of art, is really inspiring! I love that that the gradation changes as you view it from different directions.

Anne Linberg has also done line drawings with thread on flat surface. The gradients and shifts of color are gorgeous.
